My favourite food stuff of all time has to be pesto. It goes with pretty much anything - not just the regular pasta stuff, but i sneak it into sarnies, roast chicken, soups, salads, dip pitta into it... Its genius stuff. Not surprisingly lots of other people think so too, just looking at the blog links, there are enough pesto+ recipes out there to last a lifetime. Ideal if you ask me (apart from pure pesto based pizza, which might be lacking a little je ne sais quoi minus cheese and tomato....but never say never)

Half the office have opted for long on carbs lunches today...sports day followed by big night out last night for some - always a degree of smugness watching those with a hangover munch their way through chips and more chips...

Much jolity at the sports day outfits - 10 out of 10 for the office, as always, never let it be said anything is undertaken halfcooked around here.

Roll on the weekend. Supper tonight with the Wyatts, Somerset tomorrow again - fingers crossed its a good day, husband stuff on Sunday - perfect.
Only one run so far this week. have an appointment with my trainers later this afternoon, and again this weekend. Will report back on monday...

no escape - time to get focused on a half marathon schedule.
Enough time to get one done at Christmas. Maybe New Years Day.

why is it that...

...cold and wet weather makes me want to eat - alot...

Weekend in the country/on the island with friends was ideal - the only downside is of coure that monday morning feeling bad backlash having put away an inordinate amount of sausage and mash, red wine, pizza and chocolate. I am not sure how many hours of cycling i need to do this week to get back into green on the calorie scale but the short answer will be lots.

topshop therapy

i love clothes but i'm a rubbish shopper. I prefer to use my weekends for more interesting things than trawling busy stores with lots of school girls. But this last week my wardrobe demon has been nagging quietly in my ear, reminding me every time i open the door that the jumpers from last winter seem to have evaporated and i am badly in need of trousers, blouses, weekend wear etc etc etc. And today i felt the need to just go and sort it. So, happy days - one lunchhour and some debit card moments later, i am back in the land of the clothes-worthy, with shoes, trousers and a whole range of new winter woollies to keep me happy -i even managed to clock some of this season's purple...never too old...
Now i can look forward to the morning with less dread about what to throw together to make a suitable outfit for work, and have also livened up the weekend set too. Next on the list - new jeans (my absolute worse shop buying experience, only to be attempted post-gym), and new boots - lovely.
Wednesday morning - autumn is here. Officially not a day to be cycling to work - too much wind in the face on the way home which means it feels like 20miles rather than 10.
No exercise means the whole 'eat well' mantra goes to pot from the start and begin the day with coffee and muffin, both on the banned substance list...
Supper later with Katie - always good for a glass of wine. Day off tomorrow - down to see parents with sis and family in tow - fingers crossed Dad not feeling too bad...cancer is a terrible thing - as my husband so rightly puts it, you don't die from it, it kills you...
Back to thinking about clients - easier on the wrinkles than cancer...
